New Vision English Centre

New Vision English Centre was established in 2014.We grew from having one English centre and 50 students to now having 2 centres and 800 part  time students. As well as that we arrange contracts with many local schools to teach English there. The schools are both public and private schools teaching students from 3-16 years old.

At our centres we try to keep student fees as low as possible to give poor families an equal chance to learn. Our main focus is not profit but to provide a service to the community.

Hang Phan – a founder of New Vision has been a teacher of English for more than 20 years. She is now leader of the education department’s English language section. Hang says,” My main passion is education. My goal is  to offer equal learning opportunities to both rich and poor families alike. Also to offer the students of Ha Tinh a chance to improve their futures. Children of bigger cities have more opportunities  to learn with foreigners as more foreign teachers prefer to go there. I  think we were the first centre to have foreign teachers and now we have the biggest group  of foreign teachers in the province. As Ha Tinh is my home town,  I feel proud that I have been able to give this opportunity to the youth of our community.”

Our English centres are in the capital of Ha Tinh but in the outlying areas there are many poor farmers.

At the schools the class sizes are usually about 20 students in private schools compared to about 35 in public schools. But at public schools the discipline and behaviour is better so they are more easily managed. Lessons are usually 30-45 minutes long. Nearly all of the schools are within a 3-4 km radius of the accommodation. Teachers are given scooter/mo- peds to travel on. School hours are from about 7.30 am to 11am then 2 -4.30 pm. They have a 3 hour lunch and nap break
