No, it isn’t a requirement. Some schools of ESL say you should never use Vietnamese as the students should become accustomed to hearing English.
At New Vision each teacher is recognised on their individual merits. Years of experience often help but don’t guarantee a good teacher.
There is no set path. Each teacher finds out their strengths and preferences as to age groups e.t.c. Less experienced teachers often begin with very young learners and work up to high school students which require more in depth lesson planning and techniques. Lesson planning advice is available throughout your contract, delivered by experienced teachers on hand to give you ideas if you need it.
Fortunately not. Each class has their own class book (with teacher books available) so you have a framework to work from, but you have artistic licence to teach the content in your own way if you wish.
As everything is paid for nearly, and the cost of living in Ha Tinh is very low, teachers usually easily manage to save $800 a month clear. Salaries are higher in big cities but everything costs at least double. So in the end it often isn’t possible to save any more anyway.
A few teachers have had this problem although it’s very rare. After a few lessons, most pick it up. A few have been given an electric bike or a bicycle. As a last resort you can always get taxis as they are literally dirt cheap.
Just all the free ones at your local doctor’s surgery are sufficient. No need for the expensive rare ones they offer.
To come to Ha Tinh, Hanoi airport is the nearest. You can then have a choice of a shuttle flight to Vinh city where you will be picked up or get a coach directly to Ha Tinh.
